A Vietnamese woman in town told me this cave was used by North Vietnamese soldiers as a command center during the Vietnam War. There are all these small rock piles inside and just outside the cave. I'm speculating they're memorials, like the crudest and smallest stupas. Thousands of Vietnamese died in this region during the war.
