Unlike Vietnamese, Laotians are not coffee addicts, so there isn't a cafe every ten yards or so, and they aren't open as early. On the street just after 6AM each day, I really have nowhere to go for coffee. Though Swedish Pizza and Baking House doesn't serve until 7:30 or so, they let you in before seven, so here I was at 6:55AM, as the girl mopped the patio.

Looking like a Mafia don with his grave outfit and dark glasses, the man inside comes here every day, and sits for a very long time. It is quiet and pleasant, with the only noises that of conversations and the coffee machine.
