The National Museum of Fine Arts has a fascinating collection of Socialist Realist paintings, but it is very badly organized, with almost no work labeled. A painter might have five works in the museum, but they aren't grouped together, so one has to run all over, and look at the signature on each painting, to even get a idea of his distinctiveness. Needless to say, most visitors don't bother.
To me, the most impressive Albanian painter of this period was Myrteza Fushekati, and I also like Dhimitraq Trebicka (above). Painting is from 1979.
