More embarrassing English. Sifa, though, is a combination of Si[đa] and Fa[shion], with Siđa meaning "used," from clothing as aid, or donated clothing. Aids the disease, Sida, becomes aid as assistance. It is confusing.

Now, a used clothing store in Vietnam is nearly always adverstised as selling "si" clothing.

Oh, and there's "Chúc Mừng Năm Mới" ["Happy New Year"] left up in June. That's quintessentially Vietnamese. It is a new year, until next year.
