6:58PM on 10/10/22 at the airport, just after arrival in Bangkok. I had changed money in Saigon, so was ready to hop onto a taxi to go to Phaya Thai. The driver was super friendly but could only speak very broken English. Since I was too exhausted and there wasn't much else available, my first meal in Bangkok was two 7-11 sandwiches. Very glad to be here and not running around like mad.
On the plane out of Saigon, I checked my email to find my Cambodia visa had been approved. Since it's good for 90 days, I'll just use it later.

Bangkok eh? Well I’ll throw in my two cents since I kind of know the place. First - it’s expensive, but fun if you have the money, but if you’re on a budget avoid tourist areas and the inner-city(Bangkok doesn’t really have a down town). An area that is priced right and still has easy access to the inner-city is down on Sukumvit in the higher number sois just past onnut BTS train station. Prices for things drop off from there/accommodations/food/beer.
Places I know:
Down on Sukumvit 101\1 my friend has a Spanish restaurant called ‘La Tasca’. It’s worth a look-see.
Further down on Sukumvit 101\1 a friend of mine(Dan from Canada eh)has a restaurant/bar called ‘Zinc101’. It reasonably priced and good.
If you venture to Patpong area there is a fantastic Irish bar called the ‘Patty Field’ next to foodland.
Avoid KhaoSarn road. Way overpriced.
Good luck, and have some fun!
PS
Forgot to mention the ever illustrious ‘Cheap Charlie’s’ near the Onnut BTS Station.
