Central Market as seen from room at Zing on 11-10-22--Phnom Penh copy

View from room at Zing at 5:47AM. Magnificent building is Jean Desbois's Central Market of 1937. It was Asia's largest.

Not unusually it's actually called "new market", psar thmei, whereas "central market" is
near the riverside and called psar kandal. Also, you can catch a mini bus/taxi near that
hotel to visit me in Sihanoukville, a chinese ghost city.

Thanks, Lyle, for the correction.--Linh

I might just head down your way. I'm exhausted, though.

Hi lyle,

Though it's colloquially called Psar Thmei, as you say, it's still listed as Central Market everywhere I've searched, so that's still its official name, at least in English.
