Excellent Linh! I can see that your mind was working hard to context-switch between the different languages. Keep on chronicling these little slices of Humanity that we all need (and will eventually will have to depend on even more!).
And it is great that Others still retain their humanity and have invited you to hang with them even though you speak not the same language; at least you speak the most important common language--Human!
Great Jews that I know would say that, "you are being a great true mensch!". That the word itself--mensch--is Yiddish--Germanic-derived and some of 'them' unfairly cancelled you ought to stick in the Zionists' craw!
Live well brother and keep on chronicling these glimmers of Humanity. It is such a ray of light for some of us stuck in the belly of the Empire... with its irrationalities... even as we love the country itself.
We love peoples everywhere, regardless of language or origin or heritage-induced historical hangups... so far as they are good peoples and protect other humans and not hurt them.
And don't worry about the kids over there not even going to school; at least they play with each other, help each other, and intimately get a sense of their shared common humanity. That is a fundamental lesson that once acquired will allow them in the future to navigate our shared human existence. No psychopaths or sociopaths those kids will eventually subsume... they are carefree! Great. Let them be!
