Vietnamese owner of cafe on Khemarak Phoumin Ave. Although 69-years-old, her hair is still black, incredibly.
Although she spoke with a Mekong Delta accent, she couldn't tell me her province, so she's probably 100% Chinese. From her look to how she's dressed, the lady is known as a "bà xẩm" in Vietnamese. Bà is Vietnamese for Mrs, and xẩm means auntie [婶] in Cantonese. A bà xẩm, then, is a Cantonese auntie.
One of her two sons is living in Đồng Nai [Deer Meedow], near Saigon, so she goes there fairly often to see him and her grandchildren. Financially, she's in a different category than Cu in Kratie. He can't afford to go anywhere. Even in Cambodia, he's only been to Phnom Penh once.
