Regarding Jakarta's vigilance against terror, the last time bombs went off here was in 2016:

I've walked by that intersection more than a dozen times already. Keep in mind the US and Israel have a vested interest in backing Muslim fanatics or even staging terror attacks themselves, with 9/11 the most obvious example.
