Man playing Mekong Delta blues after work. It's an indigenous genre that has nothing to do with American blues, and in fact, most Vietnamese are completely unaware that there is such a thing as American blues. Vietnamese blues comes from its heritage of string instruments, most specifically the one-stringed, evil sounding đàn bầu, with its wicked echo box.
When my father had a Chinese buffet in Redwood City, CA, a couple of his workers would jam Mekong Delta blues at the end of a long day.
