This is a more typical Vietnamese scene than anything you'd see in a tourist brochure, and it was more or less like this half a century ago. You wouldn't know it from American Vietnam War movies, however, simply because American film directors had no experience of normal Vietnamese life. Even now, most Western tourists and expats don't see this, because most of them avoid Vietnamese alleys.
