Seems like a LOT of money for the average person in Vietnam.
Hi eahilf,
I often see travel ads and travel agencies, especially in the cities, so Vietnamese are obviously traveling quite a bit, especially to nearby countries, where they often don't need a visa. I also see travel articles and blogs. Of course, these are still only a minority. In Ea Kly, for example, most people have never been overseas. A driver there has crossed into China and Cambodia, and a gas station owner has been to about five foreign countries.
The deal above is not so great, since two of the seven days are spent on the plane. Though the ad shows the Statue of Liberty and Golden Gate Bridge, you won't see either, since you'll only briefly visit Los Angeles and Las Vegas. In LA, you'll see Hollywood and an Orange County Vietnamese shopping mall. In Vegas, you'll see the Strip and Hoover Dam.

P.S. Cambodian casinos just across the border are the most common destinations for Vietnamese travelers, but if they want to see Phnom Penh and Angkor Wat, they can take a $215 four-day tour that includes most meals. Not a bad deal at all.
P.P.S. What many Vietnamese blow a lot of money on is gambling, so a guy who makes $500 a month may lose thousands of dollars on a soccer match!
