All 273 mosques in Belgrade have been destroyed, except this one. Built in 1575, it is a gem.

In 2004, the Bajrakli Mosque was set on fire in retaliation for the burning of Serbian churches in Kosovo, but it survived. It is an active mosque. I ran into some Muslims there today.
