Oh great, an Albanian folk singer! This is actually Dandy from Kansas, however. Dandy left the States 5 1/2 years ago and hasn't been back. Traveling mostly by bus or train, he's been to Portugal, Spain, France, Ireland, Bulgaria, Turkey (four times), Greece, North Macedonia, Croatia, Serbia, Kosovo and Albania (three times). Dandy loves the Balkans. The song played here is actually Turkish, though Dandy heard it for the first time through its Greek version in Greece. All Balkan nations have a version of this song, and there's even one in Korean, Dandy told me.
Here's Dandy's YouTube channel, Dandelion Lakewood.

I dig it!
impressive skills - singing well in Turkish in this song, playing Saz sufficiently - a difficult instrument in the very demanding Anatolian genre - thanks for giving this musician a forum on your blog
Hi Linh Dinh ,
hope you are well ...
I am wondering about the current situation in Albania... I am American , have been in Bulgaria for the last 6 months but my visa expires here next week...
I am spiritually and intellectually opposed to the PCR test and am suspicious that it is being used to create a DNA database since its purposefulness relative to what they claim is entirely unfounded...
Anyhow , I have heard that Tirana is somewhat restricted but wanted to hear from a reliable voice on the ground ...
My only option for test free travel from Bulgaria is North Macedonia and Albania so I am leaning on this route...
What is life like there ? I guess they offer a year visa so it seems like a good place to wait this out , though I am not sure if there will be an out on the other end as far as test-free , vaxx-free travel is concerned ... what a terrible time.
Also , I have some other questions that I would prefer to ask privately ... is there a way to contact you through email ? maybe protonmail or signal ? or any other avenue ?
thanks very much...
long time no post. you ok?
