Rice with fresh mushroom, frozen corn and pork sausage cooked in Castle Beer and Colman's Mustard at home on 11-9-21--Windhoek copy

Yesterday's lunch at Chez Moi, Windhoek's newest and absolutely worst restaurant, with a smirking, pompous chef and a waiter so insolent, he should have been strangled, if not shot repeatedly.

It's rice with fresh mushroom, frozen corn and pork sausages cooked with Castle Beer and Colman's Mustard (from my beloved Norwich!). Everything but the beer and mustard was bought at a Checkers Supermarket, which I also shopped at regularly in Cape Town.

OK, it's time to make dinner. Tonight's meal is spaghetti with corn and ground venison, seasoned primarly with a molasses-infused soy sauce made by Staffords of South Africa. Lots of food in Namibia are imported from that country.

If that was mopane worms it would have been worth putting it on a plate like that, but only pork sausages, boring.
