Russian Donuts on 4-19-22--Vung Tau copy

Donut Nga [Russian Donuts]. Run by a Russian couple, it's been here for several years, so is practically a Vung Tau institution. I got there this morning before it opened, so could only take this photo. On the same street, I noticed Luca Italian Restaurant, German Sausage Bar, Century Fish and Chips, Travellers British Restaurant and Market, Belly's Australian Pub and Taj Indian Restaurant were still in business, so all is well on Phan Chu Trinh, Vung Tau's most cosmopolitan street.

Hi Linh,

Maybe one day you can interview and photograph these Russian doughnut shop owners. It would be interesting to see them and to hear what they have to say (if they wish to talk) about this war or about their lives as Russians owning/operating a doughnut shop in a beach town in Vietnam.

Hi Martin,

I've seen them a few times. They do business with hardly a word and rarely a smile. The guy has one hand.

Fuck! Having one hand tells, in itself, an interesting, though shitty, story. I should remember to thank God I wasn't given THAT cross to carry.

The truth is, having one hand makes the guy even more interesting.
