Though all Vietnamese love to snack, it's especially pleasurable for schoolkids, since it's their first taste of freedom. They get to spend their own money on what they want. As I have already pointed out, fat kids are becoming more numerous, however.

Hi Biff,
I love fried chicken and french fries as much as anybody, but their increasing popularity here is certainly fattening up the kids. That, and the consumption of soft drinks.

Eating Fried Chicken

I hate to admit this, brother, but there are times
When I’m eating fried chicken
When I think about nothing else but eating fried chicken,
When I utterly forget about my family, honor and country,
The various blood debts you owe me,
My past humiliations and my future crimes—
Everything, in short, but the crispy skin on my fried chicken.
But I’m not altogether evil, there are also times
When I will refuse to lick or swallow anything
That’s not generally available to mankind.
(Which is, when you think about it, absolutely nothing at all.)
And no doubt that’s why apples can cause riots,
And meat brings humiliation,
And each gasp of air
Will fill one’s lungs with gun powder and smoke.

I haven't heard or read the above discussions, however... Still, it's nice to be taken seriously, but that was before I was canceled.
I wrote the poem in Italy while going through violent fried chicken withdrawal and longing.
"apples can cause riots" was suggested by the Italian for apples, "mele"!

increasing fat levels have to be due to the gmo/frankenfood assault on our health for the profit of criminal corporations, as the fat increase walked along side of the gmo's being let out of the bag.
Hi Craig,
All those chemicals in our food are causing damages we hardly know about. A woman here told me that bags of rice used to keep practically forever, but now they get moldy or spoil in other ways from chemicals.
