Every one of those poor bastards was probably dead within five years. Guinea pigs got paid less than $80 a month in the 50s, which was pretty damned cheap. If there is anyone still alive to write books or read them in 500 years, Americans will go down in history as people who were so stupid that they dropped atomic bombs on themselves.
