So the homeless become the unhoused, and street takeovers become sideshows. As problems get bigger, they just make their names a little nicer. There is a mania for euphemisms in the USA that betrays a pitiful immatury. Slaves are enslaved persons. There is nothing wrong or demeaning with calling a garbageman or cleaning lady what they are.
P.P.S. The day after my father's funeral in San Jose, I ran into a Mexican homeless guy with a striking resemblance to my father! Don't you ever doubt that God has a very wicked sense of humor.
