Everyone in the comments is blaming the clerk instead of the thief who also shot multiple people. Black Americans, very generally speaking, are quite literally impossible to reason with.
Many of the commenters are probably white, though. It's an astounding situation, with the clerk acting very stupidly also. He only unlocked the door after the gunman had run out of bullets! Of course, the gunman didn't just kill someone but destroyed his own life over $4.
While it is a shame some of the customers were shot (and one killed), at least the gunman has a supportive mother. That kind of love is worth celebrating.

I'll bet this is his first interaction with the law. Was studying to be a dentist.
