In Bangkok, a scene like this is much more common, but even there, it's nothing like any major American city. I've been to roughly 40 countries, and the three with the most visible homeless population were USA, South Africa and India. As for this man, he's most likely not even homeless, since it's the first time I've seen him after a week in this neighborhood. He probably has a shared room somewhere and is just too drunk to go home.

Just like in Tokyo on Sunday mornings, people pass out all over the place, in the subway, on the streets, too drunk to go home. When you first see this thing, you are bewildered, but then after knowing what it is, you say oh well ...
