Even though I've been kinda critical of him, it's really good news that he's out, and hopefully finds a way to stay out.

You should be critical. He's evolved from "giving advice to men" to being a "geopolitical analyst" and a reporter of the SMO. Some of the stories (including current escape) defies common sense. For example, why drive 800 miles to Hungarian border (when there are fuel shortages in Ukraine) vs going 50 to 200 miles to either Belarus or Russian borders? Lira earns an income online. People lie.

That said, it's good to see him alive and puffing away.

Ron, I have considered the possibility that Lira has been faking it all for online clout, but I suspect he's not lying as Ukrainian spokespersons have mentioned him, and one claimed yesterday that he was captured before entering Hungary.

As for why he didn't go straight to Russia or Belarus, my guess is that the Russian and Belarusian borders are far more heavily guarded.

WayWay, like I said, your instinct to be critical is likely correct. Inherently, people like to cheer for a hero BUT reality tells me there are few real hero's online.

YMMV
