John Henry, a Vietnamese clothing chain, showing a white man as "STANDARD OF SOPHISTICATION." To make him not too alien, he has a slim, almost Vietnamese body type, so buyers can imagine themselves looking more or less like this guy, if they would buy John Henry clothing.

If the clothing chain is really Vietnamese, why is it named "John Henry"?
It's not "really Vietnamese," it is Vietnamese. The name is Western or American sounding.
A reader, Lyle, just pointed out that John Henry is owned by Perry Ellis International of Florida. That said, John Henry was created and tailored for the Vietnamese market, with over a hundred stores in 40 cities, so it is a Vietnamese chain. There is no John Henry outside Vietnam.
