A quick note on my Postcard series:

CounterPunch has notified me they will not run my future Postcards, so you will only see them here, and at Dissident Voice, Intrepid Report, CounterCurrents and Information Clearing House.

Well that kind of sucks. I had enjoyed your postcards on counterpunch. Its why I started following this blog to see a real slice of what is happening across the country and not the overly selective sugar coated displays in the main stream media.

I agree that it sucks. Did they ever say why they won't run it?

No, just a curt email from Josh Frank saying the last one was the last. I've stopped trying to figure out what's in any editor's mind a long time ago. I'll write what I write, the way I want to write it, and if my own blog is the only venue for it, so be it.

A few years ago, a top poetry publisher approached me to do a book, but when they asked that a few poems be deleted from the manuscript I showed them, I told them to forget about it, so the book, Some Kind of Cheese Orgy, was published by Chax Press out of Tucson, my usual poetry publisher. Though Chax doesn't have the reach of some other publishing houses, they give their poets complete freedom to shape their own books, and that's truly wonderful.

Speaking of Chax, I have a new book out. It's called, The Deluge, and is an anthology of new Vietnamese poetry. Click here to find out more about it.

That's very weird, and somewhat disturbing. I never thought a place like CounterPunch, that publishes lots of other pieces, would actually refuse to publish your postcard series. It's not as if they are going to run out of space on their website.

to counterpunch

I am saddened to hear that you will not be publishing Mr. Dinh on your site any more. His articles were one of the reasons I visited CP. I hope you reconsider, lest I have one less reason for visiting your site. Thank you.

Who says we won't be publishing Linh Dinh on our site anymore? News to me, but what the fuck, dude, I'm only the editor...I guess you know more than I do motherfucker.
