One of Charles Orloski's scrapbooks. That's Joe, his younger son, in 2002. Roller skating, Joe broke his arm. After graduating from Riverside High in 2014, Joe worked in a supermarket and video rental store, then just seven weeks ago, landed a job at a Home Depot warehouse. Unloading boxes and making crates, Joe earns $12.50 an hour, an excellent wage in these parts. Though it's grueling work, Joe is handling it well and looks forward to buying his first car in a couple months. Joe's girlfriend's dad is a state trooper, and he's thinking of becoming one also.
On the day I left, I noticed Joe was sitting in the living room watching reruns of The Office, the famous sit-com located in Scranton.
