In Turkey, there are stray dogs and cats everywhere. In India, there are only stray dogs. After 24 days in India, with hours roaming the streets most days, I've seen just two cats. The first was a scrawny, miserable creature in Bengaluru. This guy in Chennai seemed happier, as he was fed fish scraps by this lady.
