The Poké Co. on Kloof. It's a chain, with most bowls just over $6, so it's nothing fancy. The better restaurants in Cape Town are patronized mostly by whites, and served mainly by blacks from the townships, where many miserable dwellings are still without indoor plumbling. During Apartheid, the wealth gap was even worse.
The black political elites, though, are generally so corrupt and inept, they haven't improved many black lives. With their reverse discrimination/affirmative action, they hurt poor whites.

The Poor White phenomena in South Africa has always been there, it was in fact much, much, much bigger pre-Apartheid than now post-Apartheid.

Basically the poor White phenomena was blamed on the Anglo Boer wars, reality was that there was never enough well watered land for every White farmer to enjoy his life with like 200 slaves / servants doing all the work for him. The Great Depression just made matters worse. "It was not uncommon to find whites who were driven into wage labour managing a lifestyle similar to that of Bantu wage labourers. ... there was "little doubt that if the Bantu were given full economic opportunity, the more competent among them would soon outstrip the less competent whites"." There you have Apartheid in a nutshell.
But yes, the Black political elites can't get anything right, they are clueless. Yet they think they are doing a great job, so its no use arguing with them.
And now I'm getting a second breakfast, all those photos of food have made me hungry again :-)
